Francesco Romanelli is the Leader of the Joint European Torus the largest magnetic fusion experiment in the world. The JET exploitation is carried out within the European Fusion Development Agreement (EFDA). Since 2010 he is also EFDA Leader, in charge of the coordination of physics and technology activities in the European fusion laboratories. He has directed the activities in Physics of Magnetic Confinement Fusion at ENEA Frascati from 1996 to 2006. From 2003 to 2006 he has been Chairman of the Science and Technology Advisory Committee of EFDA.
