Stefan Weitemeyer (born 1983) studied Physics with a focus on Renewable Energies at the Carl von Ossietzky University Oldenburg (Germany) and the University of Otago in Dunedin (New Zealand). He wrote his diploma thesis about turbulence behind fractal grids at the Imperial College in London (UK) and the wind energy research group TWiSt at the University of Oldenburg. Since March 2011, Stefan Weitemeyer is a PhD student at NEXT ENERGY, the EWE Research Centre for Energy Technology in Oldenburg, where he develops a modelling tool for the analysis of scenarios of a European electricity supply system in 2050. He is a stipendiary of the German Georg-Christoph-Lichtenberg PhD program “System Integration of Renewable Energies”.
